【摘要】:ConversionTable1presentsdataintheRockwellChardnessrangeontherelationshipamongBrinellhardness,Vickershardness,Rockwellhardness,Rockwellsuperficialhardness,Knoophardness,andScleroscopehardnessofnon-austeniticsteelsincludingcarbon,alloy,andtoolsteelsintheas-forged,annealed,normalized,andquenchedandtemperedconditionsprovidedthattheyarehomogeneous.ConversionTable2presentsdataintheRockwellBhardnessrangeontherelationshipamongBrinellhardness,Vickershardness,Rockwellhardness,Rockwellsuperficialhardness,Knoophardness,andScleroscopehardnessofnon-austeniticsteelsincludingcarbon,alloy,andtoolsteelsintheas-forged,annealed,normalized,andquenchedandtemperedconditionsprovidedthattheyarehomogeneous.ConversionTable3presentsdataontherelationshipamongBrinellhardness,Vickershardness,Rockwellhardness,Rockwellsuperficialhardness,andKnoophardnessofnickelandhigh-nickelalloys(nickelcontentover50%).Thesehardnessconversionrelationshipsareintendedtoapplyparticularlytothefollowing:nickel-aluminum-siliconspecimensfinishedtocommercialmillstandardsforhardnesstesting,coveringtheentirerangeofthesealloysfromtheirannealedtotheirheavilycold-workedorage-hardenedconditions,includingtheirintermediateconditions.ConversionTable4presentsdataontherelationshipamongBrinellhardness,Vickershardness,Rockwellhardness,andRockwellsuperficialhardnessofcartridgebrass.ConversionTable5presentsdataontherelationshipbetweenBrinellhardnessandRockwellBhardnessofausteniticstainlesssteelplateintheannealedcondition.ConversionTable6presentsdataontherelationshipbetweenRockwellhardnessandRockwellsuperficialhardnessofausteniticstainlesssteelsheet.ConversionTable7presentsdataontherelationshipamongBrinellhardness,Vickershardness,Rockwellhardness,Rockwellsuperficialhardness,andKnoophardnessofcopper.ConversionTable8presentsdataontherelationshipamongBrinellhardness,Rockwellhardness,andVickershardnessofalloyedwhiteiron.ConversionTable9presentsdataontherelationshipamongBrinellhardness,Vickershardness,Rockwellhardness,andRockwellsuperficialhardnessofwroughtaluminumproducts.Manyoftheconversionvaluespresentedhereinwereobtainedfromcomputer-generatedcurvesofactualtestdata.MostRockwellhardnessnumbersarepresentedtothenearest0.1or0.5hardnessnumbertopermitaccuratereproductionofthesecurves.Sinceallconvertedhardnessvaluesmustbeconsideredapproximate,however,allconvertedRockwellhardnessnumbersshallberoundedtothenearestwholenumberinaccordancewithPracticeE29.AppendixX1-AppendixX9containequationsdevelopedfromthedatainTable1-9,respectively,toconvertfromonehardnessscaletoanother.Sinceallconvertedhardnessvaluesmustbeconsideredapproximate,however,allconvertedhardnessnumbersshallberoundedinaccordancewithPracticeE29.Conversionofhardnessvaluesshouldbeusedonlywhenitisimpossibletotestthematerialundertheconditionsspecified,andwhenconversionismadeitshouldbedonewithdiscretionandundercontrolledconditions.Eachtypeofhardnesstestissubjecttocertainerrors,butifprecautionsarecarefullyobserved,thereliabilityofhardnessreadingsmadeoninstrumentsoftheindentationtypewillbefoundcomparable.Differencesinsensitivitywithintherangeofagivenhardnessscale(forexample,RockwellB)maybegreaterthanbetweentwodifferentscalesortypesofinstruments.Theconversionvalues,whetherfromthetablesorcalculatedfromtheequations,areonlyapproximateandmaybeinaccurateforspecificapplication.
